So the first rule of a good mixtape is that you never put two tracks by the same person on the tape. And yeah, sometimes it’s broken, but only once you know the rules.

What’s even *more* forbidden is when these two tracks are back to back. So you can understand that it was only with great hesitance that I chose today’s song for you: another Sam Cooke track.

It jumped out at me yesterday while riding the bus; a song I had noticed before for its excellent lyrics and soft, deliberate arrangement. But I had never understood the versatility the track had. It was a beautiful piece for a bus ride across this new city, and its beauty and message only grew with some news I got last night.

My own personal stories are neither here nor there; if you’re interested, just ask.

In the meantime, appreciate this song, and everything it needs to mean for you at the moment. I know I am.
